My strong preference is to receive all briefing material electronically.
An initial brief can usefully be divided into pdf documents covering topics or by author or even chronologically – a useful technique is to make the first 8 characters of the file name YYYYMMDD.
An alternative is to use folders.
A brief can be a single pdf file: if you choose to brief using this format it is very helpful to paginate the brief and provide an index: if you do that we can easily communicate by reference to common page numbers. I routinely paginate an initial brief using Bates numbering derived from Adobe Acrobat. I also usually run an OCR process over pdf files.
All of this can be done by email attachment or dropbox or your file sharing platform of choice.
